[Canoeing] Canoeing Event at Lake Kiba

On March 14th, a ceremony presenting messages of encouragement to canoe athlete Momotaro Matsushita was held in Lake Kiba, Komatsu City.
Matsushita, a Komatsu City born athlete and a sprint kayaker representing Japan in the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympics, received a message board with words of encouragement on the behalf of the Japanese canoe team and international canoe athletes. The message board was presented by local canoe club members, and the event was attended by 200 visitors.
Prior to the ceremony, Matsushita also participated in "Komatsu Waterside Cleaning Day," a lake clean up event, in order to show gratitude for the efforts in beautification of the Lake Kiba Canoe Sprint Course.
